Two halal butcher-épiceries in the Lyon region of France. Two distinct brand personalities. Both with strong local communities — and zero digital presence. Solando built both social media identities from scratch.
The Situation
Two local retail brands, strong communities, no digital presence
Taksim Market Saint-Fons is a halal butcher-épicerie at 30 rue Robert Reynier, 69190 Saint-Fons, in the Lyon region. The store specialises in oriental products, Eastern European goods, and Turkish products. It has a specific cultural identity — the name, the product range, the customer base all signal a distinct community.
Le Grand Marché is a halal butcher-épicerie in the same region, positioned as a broader, more generalist food retail brand. The product range is varied. The customer base is wider. The brand personality is warmer and more community-focused than it is culturally specific.
Both stores had the same starting point: loyal customers who walked through the door, and no presence where those customers spent the rest of their time on Facebook and Instagram. Zero followers. Zero content history. Zero digital strategy. The stores were invisible to anyone who had not already visited in person.
The Diagnosis
The audience existed. The brands were invisible to it online.
Local halal retail in France operates in a specific market. The audience is urban, French-speaking, Muslim-majority, price-aware, and deeply loyal once a brand earns their trust. These communities do not need to be created. They already exist — in the neighbourhood, in the mosque, in the school run, at the market itself. The audience was there. The brands were not reaching it digitally.
The default in local food retail is to treat social media as an afterthought. A photo posted when someone remembers. A promotion shared with no design, no consistency, no strategy behind it. The result is a feed that looks accidental — and an audience that scrolls past because nothing signals that the brand is serious about being there.
The audience was already within reach. What was missing was a consistent, designed, strategically managed presence that gave people a reason to follow, engage, and return.
Two distinct social media identities in one market.
Solando managed both accounts simultaneously, same sector, same city, same platforms. The work was not to apply one template across two brands. It was to read each brand accurately and build a social media identity that matched its specific character, audience, and commercial position.
Taksim Market Saint-Fons
Taksim Market carries a strong cultural identity. The name signals Turkey. The product range spans oriental and Eastern European goods. The customer base is specific, loyal, and community-driven.
Solando built a social media strategy that leaned into that identity. Content reflected the cultural specificity of the product range — Turkish and oriental products featured prominently. The visual design was bold, direct, and product-forward. Promotions were structured around the buying patterns of the community: seasonal demand, weekly specials, and cultural calendar moments. Facebook and Instagram were managed as complementary channels — Facebook for community reach and local engagement, Instagram for visual product presentation.
Result: 7,150 followers built from zero. An audience that did not exist digitally before Solando created the infrastructure for it.
Le Grand Marché
Le Grand Marché occupies a different position. The brand is broader. The product range is more generalist. The tone is warmer, more inclusive, more neighbourhood-adjacent.
Solando built a social media strategy that matched that positioning. Content was community-first — less culturally specific, more locally grounded. Design assets were clean, approachable, and consistent. Product photography and promotion layouts were built to feel trustworthy and professional without losing the local warmth that defines the brand. The same Facebook and Instagram dual-channel strategy was applied, but the content mix, visual tone, and engagement approach were distinct from Taksim Market throughout.
Result: 2,777 followers built from zero. A smaller but engaged community, earned through consistent execution tailored to this brand’s specific identity.
Design as Strategy
In retail food social media, the visual is not a support element. It is the post. The product photo, the promotion layout, the price card — these are the content. A poorly designed retail post does not just look bad. It fails to convert. It signals that the brand is not serious.
Solando designed every digital asset for both brands. Product photography direction, promotion templates, seasonal campaign visuals, story content, and profile branding. Each asset was built to be consistent with the brand identity and perform as a piece of content — not just exist as a graphic.
Two brands that went from invisible to locally established — online
Taksim Market Saint-Fons: 7,150 followers built from zero across Facebook and Instagram. A halal butcher-épicerie in Saint-Fons, Lyon, with a social media presence that matches the strength of its community reputation.
Le Grand Marché: 2,777 followers built from zero across Facebook and Instagram. A generalist halal retailer with a consistent, professional digital identity for the first time.
Two brands in the same sector, same city, same platforms — each with a distinct social media identity that reflects its specific positioning. Neither looks like the other. Both look like Solando’s work.
Every digital design asset — product visuals, promotion layouts, seasonal campaigns, profile branding — built by Solando as part of the social media strategy, not as a separate deliverable.
Proof that Solando operates across markets: Tunisia, Ivory Coast, and France. The same strategic discipline, adapted to the specific cultural and commercial context of halal retail in urban France.
